While condemning the ongoing operation against slum dwellers by the Capital Development Authority (CDA), the Awami Worker Party (AWP) has demanded to immediately release the detained slum dwellers.
The AWP has also demanded that the slum dwellers be allotted alternative plots before they were evicted from their present locations.
AWP Punjab division President Asim Sajjad said that, “If the arrested slum dwellers were not released, they will launch a protest demonstration and if any loss of life was happened, the government will be held responsible.”
He said that the operation in I-11 slums has left the impression that the residents were not Pakistanis but an agent of an enemy country.
