The Punjab Food Authority on Friday slapped Rs 75,000 each fine on two top hotels of the city for not meeting mandatory hygienic requirements.
According to details, Punjab Food Authority (PFA) Data Ganj Bakhsh team under the supervision of Director Operations Ayesha Mumtaz on Friday inspected two hotels located on The Mall.
“During inspection, the team found that there was no proper arrangement to wash hands in the kitchen for workers, poor drainage in kitchen, no expiry date was mentioned on colours, flavours and Samosa Pati” in the bakery section to which the authority imposed a heavy fine,” said a press release issued by the authority.
Meanwhile, the government officials found that edibles were placed in chillers inappropriately in the other hotel that they raided. The team also found poor cleanliness arrangements in the kitchens of one of the restaurants while the floor of the kitchen of another restaurant was found dirty on which the authority imposed fine of Rs 75,000.
Also, fine was imposed on BigMan restaurant in Shadman for not maintaining proper cleanliness.
