Hearing of the case to register a treason lawsuit filed against Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain was conducted on Friday in Lahore High Court (LHC).
As per details, the hearing was headed by Justice Muzahir Ali Akbar Naqvi in which the petitioner’s lawyer Aftab Virk adopted the stance that the MQM chief had made speeches against the Pakistan Army and the state but no action has yet been taken by the interior, foreign and information ministry.
However, the move falls in the category of treachery, therefore, it is requested that a treason case should be registered, Virk said.
The judge remarked that the case is of sensitive nature so it would be heard by a larger bench and sent the case file to Chief Justice Manzoor Malik for the formation of a larger bench.
Moreover, notices have also been issued to interior and foreign ministry and principal secretary of the prime minister (PM).
