DJ Butt settles PTI monetary dispute with Rs 2.5m payment

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has finally paid off Muhammad Asif aka DJ Butt for his services to the sit-in protest organised by the party last year.

DJ Butt had claimed that the party owed him Rs 80 million, however the party leadership somehow managed to convince the musician to settle for Rs 2.5 million.

“In consideration as agreed herein lump sum payment to DJ Butt, he completely releases and forever discharges PTI, of and from any and all past, present or future claims, demands, obligations, actions, causes of action, rights, damages, costs, loss of services, expenses and compensation, on account of, or in any way growing out of the above said services provided to PTI. Furthermore, PTI hereby withdraw the notice issued to DJ Butt regarding repayment of excess amount paid to him,” a letter sent by PTI Central Finance Department and signed by DJ Butt stated.

“In consideration of the release set forth above, PTI hereby agrees to pay and DJ Butt agrees to accept Rs 2.5 million as full and final settlement of his claim,” the letter added.

Earlier, PTI had rejected that they owed Butt Rs 80 millio, rather they vowed to take him to court if he failed to prove his claim.

On July 6, the entertainer claimed that the party owed him Rs 80 million for his services at the PTI’s Islamabad sit-in last year.

“My total payment for playing music was Rs 140 million but I was paid only Rs 60 million,” DJ Butt had claimed.

Further, Punjab Revenue Authority had issued a tax notice to DJ Butt for Rs 17 million and summoned him on July 23 for neither registering himself nor paying due sales tax to Punjab government.
