In the light of weather forecast for next 36 hours, heavy rainfalls may generate urban flooding.
This was informed by Karachi Commissioner and Karachi Metropolitan Corporation Administrator Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui in a statement. The commissioner has declared rain emergency in Karachi. Many KMC offices will remain opened for seven days a week in order to carry out required functions and to avoid loss of human lives and properties. The departments of KMC where leaves of Saturdays and Sundays have been cancelled include the Metropolitan Commissioner Secretariat, Technical Services Department, Parks & Horticulture Department, Municipal Services Department, Medical & Health Services Department, Local Taxes (Advertisement) Department and Vehicle Department.
