The Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday accepted the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) plea regarding holding of phase-wise local bodies (LB) elections in Punjab and Sindh.
Justice Jawwad S Khawaja held hearing of the petition in his chamber. The judge accepted ECP’s plea after discarding the registrar office’s objection. Earlier, the registrar office had ordered the ECP to approach forum concerned for the matter.
These LB Elections will see the ugliest form of rigging now that Supreme Court has joined in.
