Punjab Minister for Labour and Manpower Raja Ashfaq Sarwar Wednesday said there are no differences between Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) local party leaders and its candidates will contest the local government elections under the party’s umbrella.

Addressing a press conference, he said a strategy is being finalised for the polls and PML-N will clinch all seats in the city as it did in cantonment board elections held on April 25. The party had won absolute majority by bagging 19 of 20 seats in the city, he added.

Raja Ashfaq Sarwar informed that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif who also holds the office of PML-N Punjab President has already constituted committees which would select candidates for each constituency.

The committees include district Presidents, General Secretaries, MNAs, MPAs and other Party leaders.

He dispelled the impression of split in party at local level and said, there was no big differences between the local party leaders but minor misunderstandings that has been resolved.

He said that Rawalpindi is a stronghold of PML-N as people love Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif and will vote for the party in the upcoming local bodies elections.

The PML-N government started several mega projects worth billions of rupees in Rawalpindi, he added.

To another question, he said the government during last two years made concerted efforts to eliminate terrorism and resolve energy.
