The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday suspended non-bailable arrest warrants issued against former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf in the Abdul Rasheed Ghazi murder case whereas a hearing on a plea seeking complete exemption of the accused from court would be conducted on July 27.
Justice Amir Farooq of IHC was hearing the case during which the plaintiff’s counsel pleaded to suspend the non-bailable arrest warrant and requested complete exemption of the accused from the hearings. The lawyer told the court that Musharraf has been granted with permanent exemption in Akbar Bugti case. He said that the report was earlier submitted to the trial court but no action was taken.
The opposing counsel pleaded the court not to grant exemption as Musharraf had not bothered to appear in court even once.
The court adjourned the hearing till July 27 for further arguments.
