Rain emergency set-up has been established in the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA). The SBCA has once again warned residents of all the unsafe declared buildings to vacate them forthwith to save lives and properties as the possibility of falling of buildings has increased with the rains.

An affected building of Kharadar is also included in the list of the buildings declared dangerous. As a result of survey, a technical committee of SBCA comprising adept constructors and experienced engineers has yet declared 288 buildings in the city to be dangerous due to their decayed foundation structure. An emergency has already been imposed in the SBCA on the directives of acting director general of the SBCA due to prediction of monsoon rains by the meteorological department. The citizens could contact emergency number 021-99232354 in case of any building accident.

The SBCA said the building which was damaged in Kharadar had already been declared to be not usable and was given notices. Other such buildings which have been issued notices should be vacated as they are unable to bear the burden of the building structure.
