Three drown off Gadani beach

As many as three people drowned while reveling at the Gadani beach on Sunday, the second day of Eid.

Warnings by the civil administration fell on deaf ears as revelers continued taking bath in the rough seas off the Gadani beach. Three individuals were swept away by the strong tide. Divers were deployed to recover the bodies of the deceased.

Last year nearly two dozen people drowned off the coast of Karachi. In the light of the loss of life last year, the civil administration had issued warnings ahead of the Eid holidays to remain aware of the rough tide and avoid going into the water.

TWO MEN DROWN IN KEENJHAR LAKE:

Meanwhile, two persons, Suleman and Sohail Pathan, residents of Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi, drowned in Keenjhar Lake when they were bathing near Thatta on third day of Eid-ul-Fitr.

The bodies were shifted to Civil Hospital Makkli for medico-legal formalities and later they were brought to Karachi. Both the dead had come to the lake to celebrate Eid.
