Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid says Pakistan will complete the gas pipeline project with Iran on fast track basis to meet its energy requirements.

Talking to Radio Pakistan, he reminded that despite international pressure in the past, Pakistan did not withdraw from the project.

He said the Iranian nuclear deal with the world powers has provided us an excellent opportunity to implement this project at the earliest. This project will help revive our industries, which will generate economic activity and employment opportunities in the country.

Responding to a question, the Information Minister expressed satisfaction that this year the people enthusiastically celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr in an environment free of fear and terror. He said celebrations and happiness which were snatched from us are now making their way back. He said credit goes to the security forces who have made matchless sacrifices in the war on terror to make our lives secure.

Pervaiz Rashid said the sacrifices rendered by security forces will always be remembered and the nation will remain indebted to their families.
