Army will soon nab facilitators of Safoora carnage: corps commander

Karachi Corps Commander Lt-Gen Naveed Mukhtar visited Al-Azhar Garden on Sunday where he met the families of the victims of Safoora Goth terrorist attack.

At least 43 people were brutally killed in May when terrorists entered a bus belonging to the Ismaili minority community in Karachi and opened fire on the passengers.

The corps commander vowed that the facilitators and financiers of the terrorists would be brought to justice. He said that significant progress had been achieved in the investigation of the Safoora incident and the main terrorists behind the carnage had already been apprehended.

Lieutenant General Naveed Mukhtar said that the nation and the armed forces stand with the victims’ relatives in this hour of great grief and sadness. He stated that there was a need to further strengthen the achievements against terrorism.

The corps commander also met journalists and media representatives and exchanged Eid greetings.

He also visited the Karachi Central Jail where he reviewed arrangements at the prison and greeted personnel deployed for security.
