Additional Inspector General Traffic Police Punjab Chief Rai Altaf on Friday directed all SPs and DSPs Traffic to check traffic violations causing a great inconvenience for motorists during Eid holidays across the province.
Talking to APP, he said that all divisional SPs and District Traffic Police Officers have been directed to check the violations especially of lanes and violators must be apprehended irrespective of their social status.
He further directed the regional officers to constitute mobile teams in their respective areas to check traffic rules violation. He also warned that the traffic staff to perform their duty at the place of posting, otherwise strict action would be taken if any of them found absent from his place of duty.
Rai added all SPs and DSPs must personally visit some of the most important busy areas of their districts, to check the performance of traffic and mobile teams.

Responding to a query, Shafqat said that a Red Crescent ambulance equipped with the latest medical facilities would be available in the Zoo premises in case of any emergency.
Shafqat added that a contingent of reserve police and bomb disposal unit would carry out patrolling in and around the premises to avert any act of sabotage, pick-pocketing or eve-teasing. ‘Services of a batch of armed security guards have also been acquired from the private sector’, he added.
Apparently Eid is being celebrated for the first time in Punjab which is Lahore only.
