Shahbaz to decide fate of stone crushers on Margalla Hills, says Sana

Punjab Chief Minister Shabaz Sharif will decide the fate of stone crushers on the Margalla Hills and other areas of the province after Eid.

This was said by Provincial Law Minister Rana Sanaulallah, who is also the head of a committee overseeing the issue of illegal stone-crushers across the province, while addressing a video conference held to discuss the stone crushing on Margallas.

In the conference, Rawalpindi division was represented by Commissioner Zahid Saeed and District Commissioner Sajid Zafar Dall.

Around 156 stone-crushing mills are operating on the Margalla Hills while according to the Punjab minerals department, they stand at 127. According to a source, there are around 56 stone-crushing sites and of them, 53 are held by the Punjab minerals department, one by Pakistan Railways and one by Punjab irrigation department.

According the source, of the 56 stone-crushing sites, an influential man from Sargodha is in possession at least 19 locations, while the rest have been allocated to other people.
