Questions David Headley’s operations in and around India, laments Chadambaram’s inefficiency over conspiracy’s information as Mushrif makes pertinent statements in case
Former interior minister and senior leader of Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Senator Rehman Malik has blamed the Indian spy agency Research & Analysis Wing (RAW) for involvement in incidents of terrorism and sabotage in Mumbai blasts as well as in Samjhauta Express.
Malik, who was in office during the occurrence of Mumbai attacks, claims that RAW was involved in “plotting, engineering and execution” of the attacks to put blame on Pakistan and its intelligence agency, Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
Talking to Pakistan Today via phone from Dubai, Senator Malik blamed the former and incumbent prime ministers of India – Manmohan Singh and Narendra Modi – as well as interior ministers serving under them, for having full knowledge of the terrorist incidents just to defame Pakistan and its army.
“Both the terrorist incidents were false flag operations by RAW and I have forensic and other supporting evidences to prove my claim,” said the senator, adding that he had challenged the Indian top politicians for a live television debate who had failed to respond to his challenge.
Senator Malik said that soon after Mumbai attacks, he had asked the then Indian interior minister Chidambaram to investigate David Headley who was involved in Mumbai attacks.
“But Chadambaram did not agree to my information. Perhaps he was not aware of the conspiracy by then. But later Chadambaram admitted when involvement of Headley was proved through documentary proof and his involvement with RAW,” said the former interior minister, adding that Headley was also in touch with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP)’s infamous terrorist Ilyas Kashmiri.
Malik has raised several questions about the role of RAW in Mumbai attacks and asked the Indian authorities to respond to these questions.
“The Indians should tell their people and rest of the world who is this David Headley and why a case was registered against him in India for his involvement which was actually a cover-up. Why David Headley made movie of the location of the attack and who allowed him to operate with his office based in Mumbai?” he argued.
Rehman Malik further questioned as to who had authorised Headley to make five to seven trips between India, Pakistan and New York and why the Indians did not intercept him while already knowing his shady role in the attacks.
“Why did the Indians facilitate the attacks and who had made the payments for internet used by attackers and Headley from Spain? Why was US telephony used on the day of incident?” asked the senator.
“The Indians also need to tell who were the two Muslims sent by RAW in Pakistan and what about the guy who was caught with maps of the location of the hotel targeted by terrorists in Mumbai. Why did RAW not avert the Mumbai attacks when it had full information about the attackers and their plans?” he argued.
Malik also questioned as to why and who had killed the former Mumbai Police Joint Commissioner Hemant Karkare who was investigating the case.
It is pertinent to mention here that former Inspector General of Indian Police SM Mushrif, also demanded a reinvestigation into the 26/11 incident through his controversial book ‘Who killed Karkare? The Real Face of Terrorism in India” published in October last year.
In his book, SM Mushrif alleged that the RAM Pradhan Committee report was a distorted and incomplete version of the facts. Mushrif claimed that he had highlighted in his book how former ATS chief Hemant Karkare was killed in a conspiracy hatched by Intelligence Bureau (IB) to pave way for the appointment of their favoured KP Raghuvanshi as ATS chief to thwart investigations against the Hindu hardliners allegedly involved in Malegaon blast of 2006.
Mushrif had taken voluntary retirement from the force.
“My book clearly exposed how IB conducted a parallel operation to eliminate Karkare in the lane of Rangbhavan. The modus operandi of the gun-wielding terrorists at the Taj-Oberoi-Trident was completely different from the one at Cama and Rangbhavan lanes. I have found out at least 11 stark contrasting elements in two operations. When there was firing at CST, gun-shots were also heard at Cama and Rangbhavan lanes. How can same people be at two different places at same time,” he asked.
“Moreover, there were also media reports corroborated by top government official about how the terrorists were speaking in Marathi at Cama. It is baffling how the Pakistan-based terrorists could speak in Marathi,” said Mushrif.
