PUC to launch drive against terrorism after Eid

Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) Central Chairman Hafiz Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi on Friday urged the ulema and scholars to play their due role in the ideological betterment of youngsters. Addressing a gathering here at Jamia Masjid Al-Mustafa, he said that after Eidul Fitr, the PUC will launch a drive against terrorism, extremism and sectarianism in the country according to a press release.

He said that leadership of all Islamic countries must pay attention towards the increasing terrorism in different Islamic countries. Problems of Muslim Ummah could be resolved through unity, Ashrafi added.

Youm-e-Tahafuz Al-Harmain and Masjid Aqsa was also observed today in the provincial capital on the appeal of Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC).

Nazeer said that all relatives of inmates who visit jail for seeing prisoners must be thoroughly searched with metal detectors at the entry point of prisons. He said food should be cooked under the supervision of Assistant Superintendents of jail and the jail doctor.

The prisons chief said all regional DIGs including DIG Inspection and Superintendents had been directed to ensure proper compliance of security instructions in their respective jails through surprise visits. The IG directed all regional DIGs will pay surprise visits to different jails to check the security.
