Expressing trust on the Rangers paramilitary force, a Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) meeting, chaired by Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari, paid homage to the force for successfully conducting operation against criminals and terrorists in Karachi.
According to a TV channel report, the meeting that continued for two hours decided to table a resolution regarding extension of Rangers’ powers after Eidul Fitr.
The meeting also expressed delight over political activities of PPP patron-in-chief Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, who also attended the meeting along with Sindh CM Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Sharjeel Memon and Murad Ali Shah.
Reservations, however, were shown in the meeting over the National Accountability Bureau (NAB)’s operations in Sindh.
Speaking on the occasion, Zardari said the PPP was standing with the Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies for eradication of terrorism from the country. He also expressed concerns over violation of Line of Control (LoC) and the Working Boundary by Indian troops, saying Indian aggression at the border would not be tolerated at any cost.
