Pleasant weather forecast for Eid

The met office Thursday predicted pleasant Eid holidays followed by widespread rain-thundershowers with chances of heavy to very heavy falls in Gujranwala and Rawalpindi divisions from Friday night to Saturday.

According to official sources, seasonal low lies over north Balochistan and its adjoining areas. Moderate monsoon current are penetrating into most parts of the country and likely to strengthen from Friday and may persist till Tuesday.

Under the influence of this system, upper Punjab (Gujranwala, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Faisalabad and Sahiwal divisions) will remain wet from Friday to Tuesday, while scattered rain-thundershowers is expected in Multan, D.G Khan, Bahawalpur and D.I Khan divisions during the period.

Monsoon heavy falls may generate flash flooding in the local streams, ravines and nullahs of Punjab during Saturday to Tuesday. Due to frequent rains in Kashmir the risk of landslides, particularly along the major roads will be high during the period.

Weather remained very hot and humid in most parts of the country including the provincial capital during the last 24 hours as maximum temperature touched 37 degrees Celsius on day time.
