Fire erupted in the last compartment of Khushal Khan Khatak Express train near Jhampir Railway Station on Thursday.
According to railways sources, the train coming from Peshawar to Karachi when reached near Jhampir Railway Station, its last compartment caught fire. After that the train authorities informed Kotri and Jhanshahi railway stations for alerting rescue teams.
The train was stopped at the next station and the burning bogies detached.
However, the train was somewhat empty at the time of incident. The fire tenders extinguished the fire. No cause of fire eruption was ascertained yet.
