Bol HR chief shot dead in city

A senior manager of Bol television was shot dead in an apparent attempt of car snatching in Karachi.

Ali Noman, the head of Bol’s Human Resource (HR) Department, was gunned down in North Nazimabad Bock-E by unidentified armed men who intercepted his vehicle and fired shots on him. He was on his way back home from office.

The police and rescue official said Noman was shifted to hospital in critical condition; however, he could not survive due to fatal gunshot wounds.

The police said the incident seemed to be an attempt of car snatching during which the victim might have resisted. Further investigation was underway.

On the other hand, Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon sought report from Sindh Police IG and additional IG about the incident. Sources said IG Ghulam Haider Jamali has constituted a special investigation team under additional IG to probe into the murder.

In a separate incident, two men, Amir, 18, son of Naeem and Salman, 25, son of Waseem was injured by unidentified armed men in Jubilee Market, Ranchor Line. They were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for treatment.

One Zafar, 50, son of Allah-Din was shot and injured by unidentified gunmen in Mehran Town, Korangi. He was rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center for treatment.

Yet in another incident, a youth, Waseem, 25, son of Naseem was wounded to bullets when unidentified gunmen opened fire on him in Qasba 2 ½ in Orangi Town. He was shifted to ASH for treatment.
