Punjab govt can’t handle Metro security, so police will

Punjab Metro Bus Authority has decided to hand over the security of Rawalpindi-Islamabad metro bus service to the police.

However, a private company is currently providing the services of security. Sources said that the metro administration has refused to look after the security affairs.

All the stations located in Rawalpindi will be handed over to Rawalpindi Police while Islamabad Police will take responsibility of security of 14 metro stations in the federal capital.

Sources said this process would take at least six months. Meanwhile, metro bus authority has asked the contactors of the multi billion project to ensure remove the flaws causing leakage at the stations in twin cities.

It is pertinent to mention that passengers had  to face problems after accumulation of rain water and leakage at the bus stations in Rawalpindi as well as Islamabad.
