PESHAWAR:

With Ziaullah Afridi behind bars, fellow Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf leaders have made attempts to replace the man facing trial, sources reported.

The opportunity arose when the KP Ehtesab Commission arrested Ziaullah on charges of corruption on July 9, creating room for ‘lobbying’.

Several PTI leaders have reportedly been unhappy with Jehangir Tareen’s role in ‘decisions’. When the former minister for local government and transport Yasin Khan Khalil and minister for industries Shaukar Yousafzai were removed, their supporters took to the streets and condemned Tareen.

However, Tareen told a local media outlet that he has no grievances with anyone and could not visit the city earlier due to party preoccupations.

He nonetheless maintained he will look into organisational matters during his visit.
