Ayyan to spend another day in prison

Model Ayyan has been forced to spend yet another day in prison on Wednesday, as the judge overseeing her release left and courts closed, sources reported.

Banking Court Judge Sabir Sultan has been overseeing Ayyan’s case since Customs Court Judge Rana Aftab Ahmed Khan left on leave.

On Tuesday, Ayyan Ali had been granted bail after spending four months in jail.

A division bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC), headed by Justice Anwarul Haq, had ordered her release as it remarked that the accused was no more needed for investigation.

“The case is apparently also not of money laundering as claimed by the investigators,” the bench noted.
