The Election Commission of Pakistan has written a letter to the Defence Ministry for military deployment for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa local bodies re-elections.
In the letter, the ECP has stated that military should be deployed in all 351 constituencies where elections are being held as to prevent any untoward situation during the polling process.
The Election Commission announced re-polling in 351 polling stations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the local bodies elections on July 30. Opposition parties in the province had announced to launch a protest campaign against the alleged riggings in local bodies elections.
