Be honest, please

I wonder how come large size banners placed in Islamabad at prominent locations are being ignored by those who never stop reminding us of success stories of National Action Plan (NAP). Banners calling Muslims to donate fitrana and zakat to Falah-e-Insaniat Foundation (FIF) to support people in Gaza, Syria and Burma. Who doesn’t know that FIF is the front organisation for Lashkar-e-Tayyiba (LeT) which is now operating under the disguised banner of Jamat-ud-Dawa (JuD). Come floods, earthquakes or other natural disasters, you will find FIF and other sectarian based organisations providing transportation, healthcare, shelters, food and whatnot. That’s one side of their work; they make space through social work for their main tasks — readying mercenaries for hate missions across borders.

After massacre of over 145 students and their teachers in December 2014 at Army Public School, Peshawar, one wonders what serious action government has taken other than making tall claims on NAP compliance. If we keep allowing banned outfits and their charity hands to freely work across the country, we shall not be complaining of the long term consequences of the same. But perhaps we are asking for too much; so far we don’t have even a firm list of banned outfits. If any doubt, please visit the website of NACTA which itself is under construction since the Peshawar massacre. We need to be honest with ourselves before making tall claims.
