KARACHI:
An anti-terrorism court issued non-bailable arrest warrants for chief of banned Tehreek e Taliban Mullah Fazlullah, former spokesperson Shahidullah Shahid and other militants of the outfit, according to sources.
During the proceedings at ATC-1, police requested the court to declare the aforementioned suspects proclaimed offenders.
The suspects were reportedly involved in the killing of Superintendent Police, Crime Investigation Department (CID), Chaudhry Aslam and in the attack on Special Security Unit (SSU) bus in Karachi.
The SSU had been handed over the security of city’s sensitive areas following two blasts which killed five people including two personnel of the law enforcement agencies at that time. Security forces have been suffering reprisal attacks since a crackdown on criminals and militant activities since late 2013.
