Karachi Police on Monday arrested a target killer who is allegedly involved in gunning down Allama Abbas Kumaili’s son last year.
The arrested killer is involved in 29 murder cases, according to Karachi police chief Ghulam Qadir Thebo.
“The arrested target killer named Nasir belongs to a banned outfit,” Thebo told reporters.
Thebo also revealed that three of Nasir’s accomplices, who were previously running a group involved in killing a number of people on sectarian basis, were already behind the bars
The Karachi police chief said the police would also take action against people involved in financially supporting these killers including several seminaries that preach sectarianism. “We are closely monitoring the seminaries in Karachi and will take action whenever there is information,” he said.
In September 2014, Jafria Alliance Pakistan chief and former Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) senator Allama Abbas Kumaili’s son, 42-year-old Allama Ali Akbar Kumaili, was shot dead in Bhangoria Goth, along with his guard, within the limits of the Azizabad police station.
