ISLAMABAD: National Electric Power Regulatory Authority has held K Electric responsible for the 1300 deaths in Karachi that were caused by complications due to a deadly heatwave in Sindh, it has been learnt.
NEPRA has said that the city’s power utility failed to rectify technical faults.
NEPRA’s claim emerged in a report submitted on Friday by the Senate Standing Committee on Water and Power, to the upper house of parliament.
The report was drawn up on the orders of Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani.
