FIA gets remand of Moazzam Ali in Farooq’s murder case

MQM’s Landhi sector incharge also remanded to Rangers for 90 days

The Sindh Rangers on Monday gave Moazzam Ali Khan, a criminal involved in Dr Imran Farooq murder case, to the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) custody for investigation.

The Rangers put an argument before the anti-terrorism court (ATC) seeking transfer of the criminal’s custody for further investigation. A letter written by the Rangers sector commander was also forwarded to the court which stated that the FIA was given a no-objection certificate (NOC) on June 27.

Earlier, Khan was arrested from Azizabad and was sent on 90-day remand on April 13. Meanwhile, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Karachi remanded Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) Landhi sector incharge Rukan-ud-Din to Rangers’ custody for 90 days.

According to details, the suspect was presented before the court amid tight security. Investigating officer stated that the suspect was to be interrogated over receiving extortion in the name of zakat and fitra.

The suspect had formed a team of target killers comprising Saleem aka Lamba, Nasir, Saleem Ansari and others. Besides, the suspect also confessed of killing UC Bhatung’s Nazim Imran in 2009 and was arrested from Landhi by the Rangers. On the other hand, one more witness identified Umair Siddiqui in a murder case during identification parade in judicial magistrate’s court. Umair, who is MQM’s election cell incharge, had killed Syed Hussain in Town Police Station area.

THREE OF FAMILY KILLED AS DUMPER HITS MOTORCYCLE

Three members of a family including real sister and brother were killed when a speeding dumper hit their motorbike on Monday.

The incident took place in Korangi Chamra area when an over speeding dumper hit a motorcycle and killed three riders of same family who were going for Eid shopping. The driver managed to flee from the scene. According to police, the bodies were shifted to JinnahHospital for further legal requirements.
