CDA gets an earful for eyeing NARC land, doesn’t relent

The Board of Directors (BoDs) of Agricultural Linkages Program (ALP) of Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) has strongly opposed the conversion of NARC land into a housing society by land mafia with the connivance of CDA.

During the meeting held at Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) Headquarters on Sunday, the BoD discussed the issue and debated at length.

Subsequently a resolution was unanimously passed by the house stating that the current overture by CDA to convert NARC land into a housing society is totally absurd, unjustifiable and opposed to the development of national agriculture and food security.

The resolution said NARC is a national asset that serves all the four provinces in terms of research and technology development to enhance agricultural productivity and to address the day to day issues of agriculture. It thus unanimously rejected the CDA proposal and emphasised the necessity to further strengthen NARC and its capabilities.

The meeting was attended by representatives from the provincial governments, farmers’ associations, Ministry of Planning, Development and Reforms and Ministry of National Food Security & Research and PARC.
