RAWALPINDI:

A banking court on Monday extended supermodel Ayyan Ali’s judicial remand in the money laundering case till July 27, according to sources.

This was the 15th time the model was sent on judicial remand since her arrest from Benazir Bhutto International Airport with $500,000 on May 14, 2015.

Sources further revealed that even though investigations have been completed in the relevant case, no decision could be taken as the judge was on leave, hence resulting in another extension.

Earlier last week, customs officials presented a charge-sheet against model Ayyan Ali in the currency smuggling case.

Further, a group of civil society activists and members of public gathered outside the National Press Club on July 11 to protest against what they called character assassination and propaganda against model Ayyan Ali.
