Acting chief of the Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had not given priority to the national security and interest in his talks with Indian Prime Minister Modi. He said any talks with India which did not give due importance to the Kashmir issue and national security would be of no use.
The JI acting chief was addressing an Iftar party in ShahLatifTown, bin Qasim, district Karachi. Liaqat Baloch said India had not accepted this country by heart as Modi, in his recent visit to Bangladesh, had admitted his role in the breakup of this country. As such, nothing good could be expected from the Indian ruler.
The JI acting chief said the people of Karachi had offered huge sacrifices for the country’s security, and they must get peace and satisfaction. He said it was high time that the problems of the port city were solved. He said an action must be taken against tyrants, criminals and mafias wherever they be. He said the PPP and he PML(N) had added to the problems and worries of the Karachiites by patronizing the MQM. He said all policies and steps of the national security institutions in Karachi should enjoy the confidence of the people of the mega city. Liaqat Baloch said the JI was against privatization of major institutions and it would continue to raise its voice against the move. He said imposing anti-state elements on these institutions in the name of privatization was condemnable.
