Pervez Akhtar Shah, former chief executive of the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO), was arrested by the National Accountability Burueau (NAB) Saturday for alleged corruption charges related to accumulation of assets beyond known sources of income.
Shah was presented in an accountability court which handed him in NAB custody for 12 days. Earlier, Shah was arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency Jan 13 this year — while he was the acting Pesco chief — on the charge of receiving bribe for the supply of electricity to Afghan refugee camps in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at concessional rate. He was later released due to lack of evidence against him.
