It’s been two years since they last worked together in Khoobsurat but Bollywood starlet Sonam Kapoor still can’t stop raving about her Pakistani co-star Fawad Khan.
Khoobsurat is now all set to be telecast on TV and so when Sonam was asked to recount her experience of working with Fawad she didn’t hold herself back. “What does one say about a man who is gorgeous and gifted with magnificent acting talent,” she said in an interview with India Today.
Sonam also disclosed how the singer-turned-actor was asked to fit the role of Vikram Rathore in the film.
“When we were looking at casting for the character Vikram, we needed someone who can look regal effortlessly,” she said.
From his dashing looks to his flawless acting skills, the Bollywood actress explained how Fawad became the much-talked about Pakistani celebrity among her circle and won the hearts of her mother’s friends.
“Soon he became our dinner table conversation and that’s when Rhea (her sister and producer) decided to contact him for the film and as they say, rest is history,” added the 34-year-old actress.
But that’s no surprise given that his dramas Humsafar and Zindagi Gulzar Hai, when aired in India, had thousands glued to their TV screens to watch the romantic dramas.
While he looks stern and rigid in the Disney film, Sonam reveals that he is in fact the complete opposite from his on-screen persona. ”Very few people know that he is a funny guy in real life. They get to see his shy and intense side more often though, which we don’t mind at all,”
When talking about the film being telecast on TV, the actress said it’s a universal film, and hopes the TV audience enjoys it. ”TV is an integral part of a household and a catalyst to bring the entire family together,” she said.
