Three constables sacked for facilitating ghost employees

At least three head constables have been dismissed from service for their alleged involvement in facilitating ghost employees.

Three other police employees have also been demoted after they were found guilty of illegality.

A source shared names of those who have been sacked and they include VVIP Route Mohrir Shahzad Malik, Supreme Court Route Mohrir Muhammad Shabbir Asif and Route Line Officer Sub-Inspector Mukhtar Ahmed.

According to the source, those have been demoted include Sub-Inspector Aurangzeb, Head Constable Shakeel Azam, deputed at Cabinet Secretariat, and Head Constable Imtiaz.

The source said that the action has been taken after a committee found them guilty of misconduct and misdemeanor.

Deputy Inspector General (security) Sultan Azam Taimuri had ordered an investigation after it emerged that ghost employees were performing duty in the Islamabad Police.

The probe found that several police personnel would to remain absent from duty after paying money in bribes to route constables to depute ghost employees in their place.
