UFA:
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi met on Friday held in a meeting in Ufa, Russia, during which the Indian premier accepted PM Nawaz’s invitation to visit Pakistan for the South Asian Association of Regional Cooperation (SAARC) summit in 2016, Indian foreign secretary S Jaishankar stated during a joint statement.
The two leaders had a face-to-face on the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Russia, reportedly.
The meeting, which took place in Ufa’s Congress Hall, lasted for about an hour.
Adviser to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and Special Assistant to PM on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi were also present at the meeting.
Earlier, the two prime ministers shook hands before the start of talks.
