RTMA comes into action with control room for monsoon

To cope with the expected flood situation of monsoon spells in nullah Lahi and to ensure immediate rescue measures, the Rawal Town Municipal Administration (RTMA) has established a central control room in its premises, which will function around the clock.

According to details, this control room  has been setup on the special directives of administrator (RTMA) Imran Qureshi, which is being supervised and monitored by Tehsil Municipal Officer (TMO) Mir Akmal. The control room will continue to function even during Eid holidays . The monitoring report will be presented to district and provincial authorities concerned on daily basis.

Meanwhile, the RTMA has issued final notices to the 180 residents living in dilapidated buildings located in thickly populated areas of the city and directed them to shift from these residences.

The anti-encroachment staff visited nullah Lahi and its adjacent areas under the supervision of Tehsil Officer (Regulation) Malik Tauseef. The anti-encroachment staff has demolished 78 tents occupied by gypsy people and issued strict warning to them.

Tehsil Officer Malik Tauseef has directed the citizens to inform the concerned authorities of RTMA about illegal construction or encroachments and natural calamity so that immediate measures could be taken in this regard.
