State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali on Wednesday informed the Senate that electricity load shedding would end by 2017-18.
“Power load shedding was restricted to 6-8 hour in urban and rural areas, respectively, with zero load management during Sehri, Iftari and Traveeh timing,” the minister said while responding to various periodical reports.
The minister further said that currently 8-hour load shedding was being carried out in industrial areas to ensure uninterrupted power supply to domestic consumers at the time of Sehri, Iftari and Traveeh. However, the minister conceded that more load shedding was also being carried out in areas with high line losses.
