Around 45 Islamic State militants were killed on Tuesday after breaking their Ramadan fast in Mosul city of Iraq, reports claimed on Wednesday.
According to Haaretz report, when nearly 145 people finished their iftar meal in Mosul, 45 of them were reportedly found dead.
However, it is not certain whether the militants died of food poisoning or they were poisoned, Kurdish Democratic Party spokesperson was quoted as saying by Haaretz.
Mosul, which had a population of over one million people, was captured by Islamic State fighters in June and is the largest city in the group’s self-declared caliphate, a stretch of territory that straddles the border between northern Iraq and eastern Syria.
Earlier in November, dozens of IS militants were poisoned by Free Syrian Army militants who infiltrated their base in Syria, posing as chefs, a British media report had stated it.
