Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif left Oslo for Ufa on Thursday, to attend the 15th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit and the 7th BRICS Summit.
Nawaz is expected to meet with participating leaders including the Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Afghan President Ashraf Ghani during the two-day visit, it has been learnt.
Foreign Office spoke of a possibility of PM Nawaz meeting Indian PM Modi also.
When asked to comment on the meeting of Indian and Pakistani PM’s, FO spokesman Qazi Khalilullah confirmed that Pakistan had responded positively to an Indian suggestion of a meeting between the leaders.
He recalled that it had always been PM Nawaz’s policy to seek cooperative ties with all neighbouring countries.
