Deadlock between British, Pak sleuths over suspects’ probe

A deadlock has occurred between the British and Pakistani investigators probing Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Imran Farooq’s murder case, Dunya News reported.

According to the channel, the British investigating bodies have termed the developments in the case insufficient and have deferred the decision to bring three arrested suspects to Britain because of legal complexities. It added that the British institutions have also sought access to one of the suspects, Kashif Khan Kamran. It said that Pakistani investigators had told British officials that Khan is believed to be involved in over 13 cases of targeted killings and that Pakistani institutions are carrying out the investigations.

The British investigators have said that the proceeding in the case is extremely difficult without access to Kashif Khan. Reportedly, the investigators from both countries are in constant contact in order to work out a solution.
