Punjab Revenue Authority takes notice of Butt’s ‘tax evasion’ after claims that PTI owes him millions in dues for services rendered during PTI’s anti-govt protests

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Dharna-famed DJ Butt on Tuesday resounded the viral “Go Nawaz Go” slogan after the Punjab Revenue Authority slapped a tax notice of Rs 17.2 million on the sound engineer just a day after a monetary dispute between Butt and PTI over unpaid dues came to the fore, Dunya News reported.

According to the channel, DJ Butt has been served the notice by Additional Commissioner Ayesha Ranjha in which a note was taken of DJ Butt earning millions of rupees and not paying a single rupee in taxes. The notice orders Butt to immediately deposit the amount to avoid prosecution.

Responding to the reports, DJ Butt said he hasn’t received the notice yet, adding that he will face the notice through his legal team. He said if the government wants to take ‘revengeful action’ then it can but my slogan is still “Go Nawaz Go”.

The reports comes amidst information that PTI and DJ Butt had agreed on a formula for payment of liabilities for sound engineering services provided during the months-long protest sit-in at Islamabad’s D-Chowk.

Earlier on Monday, Butt had threatened to take legal action against the party over non-payment for his services provided during the months-long sit-in last year. He wrote an email to PTI Chairman Imran Khan, seeking his involvement into the matter. PTI’s Naeemul Haq had contacted Butt, soon after the story aired on the media, and invited him to Islamabad to discuss the issue.

Butt had claimed that the party still owes him Rs 50 million after Rs 60 million were paid during the sit-in.

Talking to the media after the meeting, DJ Butt said that he has complete faith in Imran Khan and believed that the issue would be resolved.
