The Lahore High Court Monday issued notice to Faisal Saleh Hayat on a contempt petition against him for violating court restraining orders in connection with Pakistan Football Association (PFA) elections.
Justice Muhammad Farrukh Irfan Khan was hearing the petition filed by Arshad Khan Lodhi.
During the hearing, the petitioner’s counsel submitted that the court had stayed separate elections of Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) being held in Lahore and Abbotabad on June 30 by two rival factions.
However, the faction led by Faisal Saleh Hayat conducted the election on June 30 despite the court restraining orders and re-elected Faisal Saleh Hayat as its president, he added.
He pleaded the court to initiate contempt proceedings against Faisal Saleh Hayat for violating court orders. The court adjourning the matter for a week issued notices to Faisal Saleh Hayat and sought reply.
