Battle of words between Rangers, MQM over arrests

KARACHI:

A Rangers claim of arresting the ‘sector in charges and unit in charges of MQM because Tanzeemi committee organised a militant wing’ was rejected by MQM on Sunday, which criticised the Rangers’ intelligence and said that Tanzeemi had been disbanded long ago, reportedly.

According to MQM Chief Altaf Hussain, Rangers had turned Sindh into an ‘occupied territory’ and they were holding MQM workers as ‘prisoners of war’.

Rangers had issued a brief statement on Saturday night claiming that the operation was targeting ‘criminal elements’ and was not against any party or religion.

It said that the operation was against militant wings of these groups and criminals.
