ISLAMABAD:
Following a criticism bombardment online, the management of Centaurus mall has apparently taken its decision back of imposing Rs100 entry fee.
The management is now saying that the Rs100 requirement will only be implemented from 8pm onwards and insists that amount is adjustable with any purchases made during visits to the mall.
Earlier this week, Centaurus announced that all visitors to the mall would now have to purchase entry passes worth Rs100 each, before entering in the mall, but with the exemption of women, children, senior citizens, diplomats, journalists, lawyers, doctors and government officers.
The move ignited online debate and sparked outrage amongst social media users, who criticised the decision for being discriminatory.
Most people said they believed that every person should be allowed to enter the mall without an entry ticket and there should be no favouritism.
PTI leader Shireen Mazari tweeted: “Sick how Centaurus is charging ordinary ppl an entry fee & exempting rich & privileged! Nowhere in the world does this happen! Apartheid!”
entry fee was a good thing , it kept the lofars away from the mall . if centarus can not keep a clan and lofar free envoirment i for one will not being my family there
Sorry to hear that mr salman but no one will miss you there. Cheers
I agree. And so won't a lot of Islamabad families who actually shop there instead of whiling away time ogling people. At least not until the management figures out some other way to make the mall more family friendly.
I don't think families have issue actually only some ill dressed girls would've that sort of problems and i am not saying this is right but face the fact we are living in Pakistan if u bring a 2013 Ferrari in 1940 what would u expect? ….. I admit there are some fool who try to misbehave but u can't judge the character of every single individual on the account of some fools …. i admit there will be some other way to attend to this uncomfortable situation but still this is ridiculous ….
