NOWSHERA:
Pakistan Peoples Party’s provincial general secretary Liaquat Shabab has termed the KP Ehtesab Commission a ‘tool to victimise political opponents’.
“I was arrested on charges of committing corruption of Rs5 billion, but after 35 days of investigation the authorities failed to prove any corruption against me,” he told reporters at his hujra on Saturday.
He further claimed that he knew Chief Minister Pervez Khattak would send him behind bars for criticising Khattak of ditching PPP at a difficult time.
“The Ehtesab Commission is especially designed to push political opponents against the wall,” he said.
The PPP leader alleged that government officers and other private people were being forced to give statements against the former chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and chief secretary in corruption cases.
