The Lahore High Court has restrained Sargodha Improvement Trust (SIT) from receiving further development funds from allottees of Model Town Sargodha.
The court directed Chairman Sargodha Improvement Trust, secretary housing and others to hand over possession of plots to all allottees within six months.
Justice Farrukh Irfan Khan passed the orders while deciding petitions filed by Muhammad Amir Ameen and other allottees.
The court, in its nine-page judgement wich was released on Saturday, restrained respondent officials from receiving any further amount in the name of development charges and directed to hand over possession to allottees in six months after completing all remaining development work.
The court also noted that the Punjab Ombudsman had already announced decision against the Sargodha Improvement Trust wherein it was held that despite receiving funds the trust had failed to complete development works in Model Town Sargodha in 20 years.
Such works were completed in a period of two to five years in private sector housing schemes, while the DCO Sargodha (also the chairman of the trust) and his team failed to fulfill their responsibilities.
