With fresh allegations of corruption and misgovernance emerging against the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leadership and the heat developing between the former president and PPP’s strongman, Asif Ali Zardari, and the military establishment, shady characters continue to make the already muddled waters for PPP even messier.
First it was Dr Zulfiqar Mirza who blamed Zardari for everything bad to happen in Sindh. Now there is a new character on the scene – Dr Tanvir Zamani, a self-styled US surgeon who has been pretending that she is in a secret relationship with the PPP chief. However, the PPP has officially denied that she has anything to do with the party or the former president, and lately the suspicious woman has also denied having any relation with Zardari.
Dr Zamani is a 51-year-old woman who has recently emerged on talk shows in Pakistan, apparently making controversial statements regarding the PPP co-chairman. In a recent TV interview, when asked whether she had married Zardari, Dr Zamani responded with ‘no comments’, claiming that she was not interested in responding to ordinary questions that are “trivial and considered to be minor things”.
Dr Zamani claimed that she had returned to Pakistan to seriously take part in the country’s politics.
A major media group of the country, which had adopted a very hard line against the PPP leadership, ran a controversial and fabricated segment about the alleged relationship, compelling the lawyers of the then president to send a defamation notice to the media group, seeking damages of $100 million. However, Dr Zamani later came forward and denied the wedding rumours.
“I have never met President Zardari and the only reason I have refrained from commenting on an internet hoax involving me is because I deemed it against my dignity to respond to such a hoax. Bloggers and journalists do not have the right to make up stories and disrupt the lives of people,” she stated in an email message sent to media.
Who is Dr Zamani?
According to a BBC report, Dr Zamani came to the notice of some media persons at a reception held on the eve of Independence Day celebrations in New York, US.
Clad in a dress of national flag colours, Dr Zamani introduced herself as a US based neurosurgeon. Later, she was present in the same function every year.
During those years, Dr Zamani caught attention by making strong worded, patriotic speeches in an emotional tone, while also raising slogans of Bhuttoism. She would also label Zardari, the then president of Pakistan, the Nelson Mandela of Pakistan, who according to her was working untiringly for national reconciliation and cohesion. Dr Zamani later started appearing in even those events where she was not invited.
Meanwhile, another controversy emerged when former president Zardari visited the US. Dr Zamani had welcome advertisements published in the local community newspapers. The advertisements carried the photographs of Benazir Bhutto and her own photos with Zardari.
Former ambassador to the US Hussain Haqqani told media that Dr Zamani used to hover around in the lobbies of the hotel where the president was staying. One day, Farhatullah Babar, the press secretary to the president, told Dr Zamani that she looked to be a reasonable woman and it would be better for her to stay away from the president.
Later, social media accounts related to Dr Zamani claimed that she had left for Dubai along with President Zardari and that she had travelled in the same plane used by the former president. Some days later, news leaked on social media from same accounts suggesting that Dr Zamani had married Zardari secretly.
When approached for comments, a close aide of the former president said that the rumours of Dr Zamani’s wedding with Zardari were followed up with claims of the birth of their son, Sajawal Bhutto Zardari.
“This is all part of a smear campaign against Zardari by unknown vested interests. We have previously denied the co-chairman’s relation with this woman and now she herself has also denied the same because she knows there’s no truth in it,” said the PPP insider.
Mr 10% Zardari has numerous women on the go even when BB was alive, once Mr 10% arranged the killing and got BB out of the way he has free hand with various relationships with women. Mushraf should be discharged of allegations of killing of BB and Mr 10% should immediately be put on trial. Bilawal knows the full story!!!!!
WHEN I visited Pakistan in Jan 2011 a taxi driver in Karachi told me the same shocking thing about this MR 10% getting rid of his wife the great BB. The taxi man told me that most people in Karachi knew that. I was shocked to hear that . Today is the second time I am hearing this. Can it be really true???? Then what are the true Jiyallas and the LAW doing about this murder most foul ????
Zardari has a very bad reputation and further more he looks and talks like a crocked person . !!!! HE WILL SOON BE PUT WAY AS HE IS STINKING TOO MUCH !!!!.
There are pictures of Tanveer Zamani with Zardari and a two year old child, often referred to as Sajawal Bhutto. cut it any way you can, Sajawal nor Bilawal are bhuttos.
Tanveer Zamani has been listed as a surgeon, a neurosurgeon, an orthopaedic and a trauma surgeon and as a General Surgeon. Which one is she?
In an interview with Farheea Idris she stated thrice, that she graduated in 1998 from Sindh Medical College. She then went on to say that she did her FRCS from Ireland after a four year study from 1992 till 1996, while at the same time she did a PhD in political science over a two year period from 1994 till 1996. This is an absolute lie since one cannot take the FRCS exam before quallifying as a doctor. In the same period to do a PhD in political science from Trinity College Dublin in just two years, that is well nigh impossible. She is lying. She is also lying about her marriage to Zardari since she probably did Mutta, a shia form of temporary marriage. In this the child is not an inheritor of his fathers legacy.
In an Interview with Farheea Idris, she stated that Zardari and his corrupt sister Faria Talpur were like the Qaid e Azam and Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah. What a shame ful statement. She then went onto say yes to Farheea Idris statement that she knew that there were a lot of complaints reported against Fahrah Talpur. Knowing this, she still compared the corrupt brother and sister to the founders of Pakistan.
Cannot understand why any woman in the world would find clowns like Zardari and Altaf Hussein interesting.
This woman is joker she is not worth even a minute on the tv channels and she is all over the Pak TV , it is a really low standard that future TC shows has to break
