KARACHI:
Discrepancies have begun to show up in the data collected on Karachi’s deadly heatwave victims of Southern Sindh province, as four more deaths were reported on Thursday.
Two weeks after Karachi’s heatwave killed thousands of people, government-run hospitals have added to the confusion of lapses by failing to log important details of the victims.
A total of 1271 people have been declared dead, but the statistics might be made up on guesses, according to a Sindh Health Director.
Sindh Health Director-General Hasan Murad Shah told a private media outlet that atleast 36,103 people have been affected by the heatwave since June 20.
Health Secretary Saeed Ahmed Mangnejo claimed that people from Karachi’s west, central and Korangi districts have been affected the most.
