Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday suspended the Sessions court verdict against Babar Awan after he failed to submit his reply, and levied a fine of Rs 5,000 in the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan defamation case.

Earlier, lawyers of former Chief Justice (CJ) expressed reservations on Babar Awan’s statement on which, the court sought reply from Babar Awan so many times but didn’t get any response forcing  the court to impose a Rs 5,000 fine on him.

Babar Awan challenged the decision of sessions court in IHC stating that he cannot deliver any argument without the consent of his client.

Subsequently, court suspended the judgment against Babar Awan.
